Belle of the Morning

ImageAs much as we hate to get up and go to work in the a.m., at least we’ve got Belle to keep us company on CBC Channel 8’s Mornin’ Barbados while we hurriedly iron the wrinkles out of our clothes,wolf down a quick breakfast, and dry our wet socks over the fan (oh please, like you’ve never done it!)

Shontelle Moves Up

ImageIt’s an exciting time for singer/songwriter Shontelle Layne, who wrote Roll, popularised by soca queen Alison Hinds and who co-wrote and co-performed Colours with Nathalee. Rihanna’s production team, Syndicated Rhythm Productions (SRP), has recruited the UWI student as an artist and songwriter, and is working on developing her career internationally. The signing occurred in March 2006, a few months after SRP’s Evan Rogers contacted Shontelle when a CiRCUIT magazine editor provided the veteran producer with Shontelle’s contact information and recommended that he get in touch. The SRP link has heightened hope that another Bajan could soon be rolling on to the international music scene.

FUZZ

Image“If I tell ya, I’ll hafta kill ya!” That was the response to the most obvious questions that CiRCUIT had to ask DJ Fuzz:  What’s your real name? What’s your age? How’d you get the name Fuzz?  Either we weren’t gonna get anything out of this guy or he’s a born comedian and it was gonna be a pretty fun interview.  Fortunately it was the latter.
