The "Winter Sun" Rises on Barbadian Fashion

Last Friday the "Winter Sun" rose high with the BIDC's "Barbados Fashion Portfolio" at The Barbados "Concorde Experience" flight museum.

Not just "another fashion show," the programme has been conceived by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Mia Mottley as a way to unite this country's creativity and manufacturing skills in the fashion industry.

In Ibiza of the Coast of Spain, thousands of partygoers descend on the beaches of the island, looking to dance and dance to Europe's top DJ's.'
The famous club in Ibiza, Amnesia, is just one of 7 main super clubs on “the circuit” can hold up to 5,000 people on its dance floor, as Electronica music floods the speakers. While a party of that size is pretty unimaginable in Barbados, certainly the fans of Electronica seem to be growing.

Labelle honored by Silent Majority Breast Cancer Foundation

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, December 5, 2007 -- International recording artist, Patti Labelle, has been honored for her global efforts in the fight against cancer.  Labelle was presented with a special award, a diamond studded pendant in the shape of a pink ribbon, at the launch event for the Silent Majority Breast Cancer Foundation (www.smbcf.org/) in Barbados on Saturday December 1, 2007 at the Barbados Hilton.

Collie Buddz come from where?!?!’  It’s not often that a non-Jamaican artist is credited with burning up the airwaves with hot reggae tracks.    But somehow, Collie Buddz has managed to do just that.  When the radio DJs announced that the artist behind Come Around was Mr. Colin Harper, from Bermuda, many thought ‘ehh, okay…it’s unusual, but not impossible…’
